INTERNATIONALISATION OF THE SSE - OUTREACH EVENT

As part of its Global Action for the promotion of the SSE, the OECD has developed Peer Learning Partnerships (PLP) to create opportunities for sharing knowledge and experiences between different countries and stakeholders on different topics that are crucial for the development of SSE.
At the end of the PLP on the internationalisation of the SSE coordinated by Diesis Network, SSE International Forum had the pleasure of organizing the outreach event of six months of mutual learning and experience sharing.
This event was an opportunity to share with a wide audience the knowledge gained within the consortium, and to highlight the achievements that SSE is capable of achieving.
The importance of defining the parameters of SSE for better addressing the needs of the sector, and for better visibility of the impact of SSE is a feeling shared by the speakers. The internationalisation of SSE takes into account goods and services, finances and intangible assets, but also gives equal importance to incoming and outgoing flows.
These elements are also to be found in the document detailing the tools facilitating the evaluation of practices and strategies of SSE organisations and enterprises. Document elaborated in the framework of the PLP and which will be soon available on the Diesis website.
The same will be true for the policy brief presented on the same occasion, which stresses that public policies in favour of the internationalisation of SSE must involve SSE actors, provide them with the necessary skills, give equal importance to incoming and outgoing flows, be long-term, create opportunities for meetings between actors, and include SSE in trade agreements.
The event was closed by a panel of international SSE personalities. This panel once again emphasized the importance of creating spaces for co-construction, strengthening networks (see the International Coalition of the SSE), and broadening advocacy efforts for international recognition and scaling up of SSE.
You can watch the recording of these discussions here.
